The loss of a loved one, whether it is anticipated or it happens unexpectedly, is one of the most difficult things we will ever experience. Then, when we are struggling most, we have so much to organise!
My role is to help to take one burden from you and help you to create the perfect send off for your loved one. I will meet with you and learn about the story you want to be told, and help you to decide what music and readings will be perfect for your ceremony. It may be that you want to do all the talking, or that you want me to do this for you, whatever is right for you is what I will facilitate.
I have a range of readings that I can share with you and my aim is that you have a service that tells the story of your loved one and offers some comfort at this difficult time.
Often we choose to cremate our loved ones, and have a lovely service, but then, a few weeks later we are left with a box with ashes and need, eventually, to decide what to do with them.
For some, keeping those ashes close in an urn is the right choice, but for others they want to find a final resting place for them.
Whilst we all have different time-scales for this, it can be a very positive experience to scatter those ashes in a place that was important to our loved one, or somewhere we loved, or somewhere that we know we will visit often. Involving family and friends in this process can be an important part of the healing process for everyone.
I can support you and your family in choosing a suitable place, and planning the event you want.
Whether you know you are facing the end of your life, or whether you think you will live another hundred years, the truth is that death, like taxes, comes to us all. End of life planning helps prepare for this.
I will spend time with you (in person or online) discussing everything from whether you have made a will and a funeral plan to what your passwords are and what you want to wear for your funeral - don't worry, I don't need to know the passwords (but someone does!)
Knowing that you have planned for the end of your life can be a huge relief - for your loved ones as well, as they will know how to carry out your wishes.
Even if you aren't keen on thinking about your demise, think about how much it would help your loved ones "if you should go" before, that they have a plan.
